TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Families gave back Tuesday evening at a special back-to-school bash hosted by McDonald’s. The event helped raise money for Vigo County CASA’s Whoville event.
McDonald’s donated 15% of all sales during the event to CASA, which will use the money to buy gifts and plan a festive holiday party for kids in need. The event is on December 15 and is only for the kids in the CASA program.
Director of Vigo County CASA, Gleena Cheeseman, said the Whoville event is a way to give back to the children of the community.
“The children that we serve who are abused and neglected they just have a hard time just being a kid. So, this gives us an opportunity to allow them to be a kid with no labels, no barriers. They just get to come and have fun,” Cheeseman said.
Those who weren’t able to make it tonight can stay updated on other events through CASA’s Facebook page.
