CLARK COUNTY, Ill. (WTWO/WAWV) — If you are a Clark County resident with children under the age of five, you can now have an exciting reason to check the mail.
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is now taking place in Clark County, Illinois.
The program sends a free book per month to kids, encouraging them to enjoy reading and prepare them for school.
There is no cost to families to participate.
Clark County’s participation is made possible through many local people and businesses such as Gerald and Jean Forsythe, Rural King Foundation, and Friends of Marshall Public Library.
Library Director Alyson Thompson said her own family has already started enjoying the books.
“I can be a person who is a testament to this wonderful program”, Thompson said. “My children were able to receive this free book in the mail and literally would get excited to open the mailbox and see a book with their name on it that they can keep for their own.”
If you are interested in your child participating in this program, visit Marshall Public Library or you can sign up on the website here.
