NOBLESVILLE, Ind. — A 24-year-old Brazil man was recently arrested after he reportedly took a 15-year-old to a Noblesville hotel and raped her multiple times last year.
According to court documents filed earlier this month in Hamilton County, 24-year-old William Laswell has been charged with:
- Three counts of rape when the victim has verbally or otherwise refused, each a Level 3 felony
- Three counts of sexual misconduct with a minor, each a Level 4 felony
- One count of sexual misconduct with a minor, a Level 5 felony
In November 2024, an officer with the Noblesville Police Department interviewed the teen after the reported incident with Laswell. The 15-year-old told police that she was initially in contact with Laswell after he added her on Snapchat earlier that year, with Laswell using the name “Trev.”
The documents said that Laswell would ask the teen for photos of her, eventually escalating to asking for pictures of her in her underwear as well as nude photos. After the two spoke about “being in a relationship,” the teen told him that they would have to meet in person, causing Laswell to book the Noblesville hotel room.
Laswell then reportedly took the 15-year-old to the hotel on Nov. 16, 2024. The teen told police that Laswell seemed to be “a little bit older than what he had said he was.” The teen reportedly said she noticed that he didn’t look like the guy she had been on Snapchat with and that he had facial hair.
When the two got to the hotel, the teen also told police that he reportedly used his real name to book the room, stating that “she realized he really wasn’t the person he had originally said he was.” At the hotel, the documents claim Laswell reportedly groped her and performed oral sex on her, despite the 15-year-old saying no multiple times.
After Laswell got up the next morning, the 15-year-old told police that similar actions reportedly occurred again, stating that “she just laid there while he gave her oral sex even though she said no.”
Officers with the Noblesville Police Department tracked Laswell through his cell phone, eventually linking a silver Toyota Prius to him.
The documents said that the Prius was seen traveling from Brazil to pick up the teen and take her to the Noblesville hotel. In security footage provided by the hotel, the documents said that Laswell and the teen were also seen in the hotel’s lobby for breakfast.
After a forensic download of Laswell’s phone, the documents said that Laswell reportedly searched for the following terms on Google:
- “Sexual misconduct”
- “Inappropriate text with minor”
