VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – A man is facing an arson charge after a Tuesday night house fire in Vigo County.
Firefighters responded to a fire just after 8 P.M. at a home located at 4684 N. Fruitridge Street.
The house was engulfed in flames. The Vigo County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called to the location due to 50-year-old Wayne Burton allegedly acting aggressively toward firefighters on the scene.

When deputies arrived, firefighters advised them Burton had fled the scene. He was located near Fruitridge and Isabell avenues.
According to the incident report, Burton told law enforcement that the house is his, that he doesn’t have insurance on it and that he can burn his own house.
Burton is facing charges of arson, obstructing a firefighter performing duties and disorderly conduct.
No one was hurt.
