TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Northside community church hosted a special service Sunday morning in support of State Representative Tonya Pfaff.
The purpose of the service was to allow Representative Pfaff to inform the community about what is to come in the 2020 legislative session.
The service was also a time for Pfaff to share her lessons learned in her first year as a state representative. She also shared how her faith aligns with her work.
Pfaff told WTWO last month that one bill she she’s working on will allow students to convert a certificate of completion from high school to a diploma.
She said her time with the church today served as a chance to show the public that she is available to hear what they have to say.
“I think it’s always important to meet new people. So, we live in a relatively small town, but you don’t always get the opportunity to get to hear what they are thinking and what issues they’re concerned with,” Representative Pfaff said.
The 20-20 legislative session begins Monday at the Indiana statehouse.
