VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Indiana State Police arrested a Terre Haute man on several charges Friday night after pursuing the suspect on foot.
An ISP trooper observed a white SUV traveling 50 mph in a 30 mph zone. The trooper initiated a traffic stop and the male driver exited the vehicle and then ran on foot.
The male was detained and identified as Terrance Ballard, 36, of Terre Haute. A loaded revolver was found in Ballard’s vehicle, and after a criminal check, law enforcement discovered Ballard was not allowed to possess a handgun due to being a violent felon.
Ballard was discovered to have a BAC of .20% and marijuana was also found on him. He is currently being held at Vigo County Jail without bond.
