The rumor that was spread stated that an individual would possibly be coming to a middle school football game with a firearm.
Quickly the police found the individual that was rumored to bring the firearm and he was unarmed and unaware of the allegation.
He was fully cooperative and allowed police to search his car. No firearm was found.
No arrests have been made, even if the man was detained during the search.
At this time police believe this has no threat to the community.
Officers from Sullivan City Police, Sullivan County Sheriff‘s Office and the Indiana State Police responded to the situation.
