A rededication ceremony featuring the Sycamore Singers was held for the Fine Arts and Commerce building.
“What Indiana State does really well, which is taking buildings with good bones, that have perhaps lived past their usefulness in the format they’re in, and turning them into these wonderful facilities,” ISU President Deborah Curtis said. “It’s a lot of care that has to go into redesigning these spaces to preserve some of the most beautiful marble column spaces, and yet bring the teaching and learning environment up to this century’s standards.”
The process started in May 2018. New features include and updated temperature control system, modernized teaching facilities and a glass atrium at the building’s entrance.
The project marked the first total renovation of the building since it was constructed in 1939.
