River Harbin received a heart transplant Wednesday at Riley’s Children Hospital in Indianapolis. He was on the list for the transplant for 98 days.
River Harbin was born with a heart condition called Cardiomyopathy and was given an 18% chance of survival before birth. And within days of his birth, he had open heart surgery.
Since December 2018, River has had two open heart surgeries, four brain surgeries and several other procedures.
He’s also endured a brain bleed, kidney failure, collapsed lungs multiple times, RSV and several other complications last year and this year.
River’s parents hope he can go home within two to four days.
The family is hosting a fundraising benefit on July 19th and 20th to help with medical expenses.
