SULLIVAN COUNTY, Ind (WTWO/WAWV) – An Indianapolis couple has been arrested following a homicide investigation in Sullivan County.
Danny A. Wilson Jr., 40, was charged with murder. His longtime female companion, Renee S. Huffines, 40, was charged with conspiracy to commit murder and aiding, inducing or causing an offense.
The arrests came after a body was recovered while police were serving a search warrant at a residence in eastern Sullivan County.
An autopsy conducted Wednesday morning confirmed the victim had been murdered sparking a multi-agency investigation including the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office, Indiana State Police, Sullivan County Prosecutor‘s Office and Sullivan County Coroner’s Office.
Sheriff Clark Cottom said investigators reviewed the case late Wednesday afternoon with Sullivan County Prosecutor Ann Mischler. Following that meeting, police charged the couple.
Both Wilson and Huffines are being held in the Sullivan County Jail with no bond.
The name of the victim is being withheld, as police await pending positive identification.
This case remains an active working investigation, and further information is expected to be released, in the days ahead.
