34 Teachers were recognized at the 33rd “Excellence in Education” banquet. Our own Julie Henricks served as the emcee of this important event. Awards came as a result of nominations from students, parents, principals and others in the Vigo County school community. Some characteristics of teachers nominated and awarded were their dedicaiton and commitment to the students of the Vigo County School Corporation.
Jane Nichols, executive director of the Vigo County Education Foundation, said “this also happens to be teacher appreciation week so we are thrilled to honor these wonderful teachers as well as all the teachers in our school corporation. They inspire, they educate, they nurture, they’re sometimes raising some of our children.”
