PARIS, Ill. — A Paris man is facing charges after he fled from a routine traffic stop early Tuesday morning.
When Paris Police attempted to pull over Blake Sawyer, 32, he fled law enforcement, ignoring traffic control devices and driving more than 50 mph over the speed limit.
He then got out of the vehicle and attempted to hide in a bean field, but was tracked down by K-9 Diezal.
Sawyer was arrested on initial charges of aggravated fleeing/eluding a peace office, driving while license revoked, reckless driving and speeding over the statutory limit.
He was transported to the Edgar County Jail pending a court appearance.
