WEST TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Multiple units are on scene at a garage fire on Darwin Road in West Terre Haute.
The call came in at 4:23 p.m. Friday, and when firefighters arrived on scene, the garage was engulfed in flames.
A lack of water supply has made it hard to fight the fire, according to the Sugar Creek Fire Department battalion chief. The excessive heat has also been a challenge for firefighters.
Racing cars and fuel were stored in the garage.
No injuries have been reported at this time. Firefighters expect the garage to be destroyed.
The battalion chief asked drivers to avoid the area while firefighters work to contain the blaze. He said to use Switzer Drive to Robinson Place as a detour.
