The property at the old golf range behind Honey Creek Mall has already been subdivided.
County Commissioner President Brad Anderson claims the council said it would approve the re-zoning of the property.
“It’s kind of in their hands now to see if they will zone it in the correct way,” he explained. “They told us they would at one time if we didn’t take the IP property they would do it. So we’ll see if they are true to their word.”
The first reading with the city council will be Thursday July 11 where it will have to be approved by a unanimous vote.
If it isn’t approved, Anderson believes it will be moved to the August meeting for another round of voting.
