CAYUGA, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A team effort by Vermillion County first responders saved the life of a young man in Cayuga Friday night.
According to a release from Cayuga Town Marshal Vincent Short, Heather Brian, 32, of Terre Haute, was driving recklessly in the Cayuga area Friday night with April Brian, 35, of Terre Haute, and Benjamin Eason, 29, also of Terre Haute, riding in the vehicle as passengers.
When a law enforcement officer pulled the car over, it was discovered that Eason was not breathing.
CPR was performed on Eason, and an officer arriving on scene administered two round of nasal Narcan.
Illiana EMS then arrived on scene and administered an IV dose of Narcan, at which point Eason became alert. He was then transported to Union Hospital in Terre Haute for medical treatment.
During the investigation, several syringes, spoon, and a small amount of heroin were discovered in the vehicle.
Heather Brian, April Brian, and Benjamin Eason, after being medically cleared, were all arrested on drug-related charges and booked into the Vermillion County Jail.
April Brian was bonded out, while Heather Brian and Eason remain in jail.
