According to a police report, someone is using a THPD phone number to call area residents and accusing them of committing a crime. The caller then says that by paying $3,500, the person can avoid charges being pressed.
“Obviously this isn’t how it works,” Public Information Officer Ryan Adams tweeted Tuesday. “
A report was taken that a Hispanic male is calling from a THPD number stating he’s a detective and accusing the person of a crime. The man stated if you pay $3,500 dollars the victim won’t press charges. Obviously this isn’t how it works and LE would NEVER do this! Please share!!
