Joey Lodge was visiting a home in the cul-de-sac when he saw a saw the suspicious vehicle. Lodge, who relatives said is retired law enforcement, confronted Aubin by holding up a badge and pointing his gun at the car.
Aubin struck Lodge with the Mustang, and Lodge fired into the vehicle, hitting Aubin in the chest.
Lodge was found unconscious in the roadway.
Information on either man’s condition has not yet been released.
A judge set a $50,000 bond for Aubin, who was not yet booked into the Vigo County Jail as of 3 p.m. Monday.
