VIGO Co., Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Duke Energy is giving back this winter to those who may need help with their bills.
It’s part of their Helping Hand program.
The Helping Hand program is providing $750,000 in financial assistance to eligible Duke Energy customers, which is $100,000 more than in 2018.
Customers will receive a one-time $300 payment to their account.
Last year, Duke Energy helped more than 3,700 Hoosiers, including customers in Terre Haute.
They said the program is another way to show their customers they’re there for them.
“I feel like we’re a neighbor to all of our customers out here. I really feel proud of that. That we are out there helping our communities. Not only here but, we got Duke Energy Foundation grants, we’ve got so many ways,” said Rick Burger with Duke Energy.
Funds will be available through the program until they run out.
