KNOX CO., Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A man driving 95 mph through Knox County received more than just a speeding ticket when Indiana State Police found a loaded gun in the vehicle.
When troopers pulled over Darrell Cannon, 44, of Gary, Sunday night, they detected an odor of marijuana inside the car, according to police reports.
A search of the vehicle uncovered a loaded handgun and marijuana.
Cannon was not licensed to carry a handgun, and had a prior conviction for carrying a gun without a license.
He was arrested for possession of a handgun with a prior conviction and possession of marijuana. He was transported to the Knox County Jail pending posting of bond.
