SULLIVAN, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Sullivan County deputies conducting a welfare check were met with gunfire Friday.
Deputies were called to 478 W. CR 75 S Sullivan around 1:30 p.m. Friday.
Once shots were fired, authorities from multiple agencies surrounded the house. The Terre Haute Special Response Team was headed to the scene when the suspect gave himself up.
The residence is now secure.
According to Sullivan County Sheriff Clark Cottom, any weapons inside the home will be removed in accordance to Red Flag laws.
Sullivan City Police, Indiana Conservation Officers and Indiana State Police assisted at the scene.
