Wednesday, multiple law enforcement agencies were at a home at South 14th Street in Marshall.
Marshall Chief of Police, Chris Smithson, says officers were serving a warrant for the arrest of Charles Tyler Livvix, of Marshall, due to a missed court date.
That’s when what was supposed to have been a warrant, turned into a hours long standoff.
“Officers located the suspect in the garage, when they made contact with him he shut the garage door and would not come out of the house. Officers backed off and called for reinforcements,” Smithson said.
Smithson says Marshall Police called on the ILIAS Tactical Response Team, which is made up of several different agencies, and were peacefully able to bring this situation to an end around 6:30 CT.
“We’re very happy that he came out finally, without incident. He was unharmed, and he was taken off to jail,” Smithson said.
Smithson says while police were waiting on Livvix to surrender, he did make multiple posts to Facebook. At this time he has not confirmed what those posts said.
A no bond warrant was served for Livvix.
In 2014 the suspect’s brother, Adam Livvix, was arrested for allegedly plotting to attack Muslim holy sites in Jerusalem.
