TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Terre Haute Fire Department is investigating a suspected arson at an abandoned house.
THFD was called to the scene of the fire at a vacant house at the corner of North 4th Street and 6th Street.
“Upon arrival, we had heavy fires showing from three sides of the house so we went to defensive attack from the outside and got all visible fire knocked down and then we went in and continued fire operations of putting out the rest of the fire,” said Acting Battalion Chief Jay Umbaugh.
Arson is the suspected cause at this time. THFD was called to a second home while at this scene, but that fire turned out to be a false alarm.
