TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— A big honor for a local college’s nursing program. Saint Mary of the Woods College announced its graduate nursing program was awarded a full ten-year re-accreditation.
That comes from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. The college said the recognition comes after a comprehensive on-site evaluation. Crystal White is the Program Director for the Graduate Nursing Department. She said this recognition shows that their students are getting a rigorous and good quality education.
“Many programs throughout the nation are accredited, most are, of course, but here at SMWC, we do offer a lot of hands-on learning. We have great preceptors in the community that work with our nurse practitioner students and help enhance their education, and one thing that we really pride ourselves on is flexibility.”
Ten years is the maximum term granted by the accrediting body.
