WASHINGTON, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Update: We now know the names of the individuals involved in a shooting incident in Washington that left three people shot, and one dead.
According to Washington Police, the suspect has been identified as 38-year-old Abel Dubon Castillo. Castillo is currently hospitalized with injuries sustained during the incident, however police noted that the injuries were not inflicted by law enforcement.
Castillo is accused of shooting 57-year-old Concepcion Rodriguez Martinez, 35-year-old Yarely Santiago Torres, and 58-year-old Aracely Torres.
Police said Aracely Torres was pronounced deceased at the residence in the 1800 block of McCormick Avenue.
Police said the investigation remains active.
Original: Police are investigating after a reported shooting resulted in one death and at least two other injuries in Washington.
According to the Washington Police Department, the incident occurred at 10:51 p.m. on Sunday at a residence in the 1800 block of McCormick Avenue. Three people were reportedly shot in the home, and one died on scene. Two others were taken to an area hospital for treatment of injuries.
Police said the suspect was also injured and taken to the hospital as a result.
Police said the investigation is active, while assuring the public that the scene is secure and there is no threat to the public.
The identities of the suspect and the deceased have not been released at this time
Police thanked Indiana State Police, the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office, Daviess County Prosecutor’s Office, Daviess County Department of Child Services, and the Daviess County Coroner for assisting at the scene.
