It’s called the 2020 Family Emphasis Initiative. Starting next year, the Vigo County School Corporation will work with the faith-based roundtable and the non-profit roundtable to provide family-friendly programming.
Activities would take place on Wednesday nights. Communications Director Bill Riley says they would try to limit other programming Wednesday evenings to allow more time for these family-based activities.
“The family is something we need to focus on in Vigo County. It’s something we can do to help strengthen our community and we’re excited to get it off the ground next year,” says Riley.
He says this initiative is an effort they’ve been looking into for about a year.
