ILLINOIS — The state of Illinois has announced its annual free fishing day for the year.
Starting this weekend, people across the state are welcome to fish for free and enjoy the natural resources of the local parks.
People looking to enjoy Illinois’ free fishing day will be able to fish in any of Illinois’ lakes and waterways without purchasing a fishing license, salmon stamp, or inland trout stamp.
For those who are not able to participate in the annual free fishing day, standard fishing licenses are still available for $15 from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
