TCC, a premium selling company for Verizon, donates every year to local organizations.
This year, the Terre Haute Humane Society received $1000 after placing third in votes for the Rescues Rock grant competition.
The money for the grant is acquired by donations within Verizon purchases and even from voluntary employee paychecks.
The Humane Society brought some furry friends into the store for the event and some were adopted on the spot.
“Community support has been great. you know, did we really hope for it? Yes but the support we get from this community just from you know this store it self and the management coming to us and saying hey I have this opportunity and I wanna help you and we’re gonna try our best to do what we can,” said THHS Interim General Manager Sarah Valentine.
“It feels great. When I heard that we were top three I was ecstatic because I knew you know that the very least they were going to get a thousand dollars,” said TCC Store Manager Cody Mason.
