TERRE HAUTE, Ind., (WTWO/WAWV) — The Vigo Co. YMCA pool is currently being repaired.
The YMCA has been working with Mayor Duke Bennett and other city officials to complete the repairs. Earlier this month, they filled the pool with water.
Cindi Monds, Branch Director, said the pool repairs will allow them to cater to the needs of all their members.
“I think it will help with our membership. It will also help the community at large,” Monds said. “We have senior citizens that have been waiting for the pool to open because that’s the only form of exercise that they can do. It’s really good for their joints and their overall health. We can teach children how to swim again, which helps with water safety in the summer.”
The pool is expected to be complete in January.
