WEST TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Vigo County middle-schoolers were evacuated from their school building twice in one day due to a malfunctioning alarm Wednesday.
Just one day away from summer vacation, West Vigo Middle School was forced to evacuate due to a fire alarm.
The alarm sounded around 2 p.m. Wednesday, but no problems were found. Once students were safely back in their classrooms, the alarms went off again.
Firefighters determined that an equipment malfunction caused the alarms go off.
