The Rotary Club of Terre Haute presented him with the Paul Harris Community Service Award on Tuesday.
He was recognized for his service with Terre Haute Police, the sheriff’s office and the Indiana Army National Guard.
“His unselfishness in serving our community. Of course, he does a great job in his profession, but that’s not why we’re recognizing him. It’s for his community involvement,” says Sally Stewart.
Sheriff Plasse says he was honored and humbled to receive the recognition.
“It’s not just me. A lot of people help me do this, so I really accept this on behalf of everyone who works with me on the police department before I came to the sheriff’s office. Just all the people in this community that do great things to make this community what it is, because without all of us working together, we wouldn’t have the great community that we do,” says Sheriff Plasse.
He is also involved with helping many local organizations, from the United Way to the Boys and Girls Club.
