WEST TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A suspect who shot at Vigo County authorities before fleeing into Deming Park was arrested Thursday by the Chicago Police Department.
Authorities believe Jacob Tyler Rentaukas was the person pulled over by West Terre Haute police Tuesday on a suspected DWI. The suspect then drove off, heading into Terre Haute where stop sticks were deployed along Ohio Boulevard.
Rentaukas drove through the stop sticks and shot at authorities before crashing into the Deming Park gate and fleeing the area.
West Terre Haute police chief Bill Bark on Friday confirmed Rentaukas’ arrest in Chicago. Bark said multiple agencies are conducting separate investigations in separate crimes related to this case.
