VIGO Co., Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Around 17 teenagers joined with the Sisters of Providence to do different activities from crafting, to exercising, to polishing nails.
The Providence Teen Ministry first started as a pilot program four years ago and later became regular after seeing high interest.
Sister Joni Moon with Sisters of Providence said bridging the gap between the teens and seniors is the most rewarding.
“Most of our sisters were teachers, principals, they ran schools, they opened schools. When these teens walk into the health care, our sisters just light up. They just enjoy talking to them,” Moon said.
Providence Teen Ministry is held monthly.
The sisters said they are always looking for more teenagers to join.
