TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Car enthusiasts got together Friday afternoon for Sycamore Manor’s first ever car show. That happened in the parking lot of the assisted living facility.
On the corner of 25th street and Ohio Boulevard across from the Meadows in Terre Haute. Those who attended were treated to free popcorn, snow cones and lemon shake ups. There was also food truck type food available for a small cost.
Organizers said this event was held to kick off an enjoyable Father’s Day weekend.
“The main purpose of this event was all about the residents. We want to give them the best experience and have fun and to kick off the father’s day weekend with a bang. And also just to show the community who we are and what we’re about,” Sales and Marketing Director Lexi Kirchoff said.
“We really would like to make this an annual event. We’ve had a great turn out. We are so thankful for all these cars that’s came out this evening,” Activities Director Michele Douglas said.
Sycamore Manor was recently recognized as “best senior living” by U.S. News and World Report. In celebration of the recognition, a free drive through lunch will be happening at the facility June 21 from 11:30 A.M. until 1:30 P.M.
