They were just my greatest friends in ROTC. We just treated everybody just like family,” said Makayla Shonk
Charmaine Livingston was a close friend of Robert’s.
“Robert was a good person. He had a pure heart,” she said.
Haylee Dicus said Mason touched her life in a special way.
“He got me comfortable with things that i didn’t even think I could do,” she shared.
One by one, those who knew Robert and Mason best took moments to remember their dynamic lives.
“He cared so much about everyone. He was a great big brother,” said Mason’s step-father.
With their legacy, comes an important message.
Whether you’re just now driving or you’ve got a permit, even if you don’t have a passenger in your car, you are still responsible for someone’s life including yourself,” said Robert’s mother.
Their friends say they will never forget them and they know they’re looking down on them.
