VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Vigo County School Corporation reports a continued down-trend in COVID-19 infections and quarantines in their latest dashboard release.
Normally released every Wednesday, this week’s data was delayed by a day due to delays with the state’s dashboard.
Just three weeks ago the number of students in active quarantine was over 1100, but in the latest dashboard released by the corporation shows just 105 students in active quarantine. They also report 48 active positive cases of COVID-19 among students. A sharp decline even from just last week’s numbers of 289 cases and 594 quarantined.

When looking at Teaching staff, numbers decreased less dramatically, with three cases of active positives and 11 teachers in quarantine. The corporation also reports declines in other staff, with just six active cases compared to last week’s 24. There are currently 17 non-teaching staff members in active quarantine.
The corporation also attached the following statement;
It is important to note that most reported cases of COVID-19 in our school community are a result of household contact. Not all positive student or staff cases came into contact with our schools during the positive person’s infectious period. We receive cases and quarantine information from the Vigo County Health Department on an ongoing basis. This dashboard is meant to help our community understand the levels of COVID-19 in our school community and how our community spread impacts our schools.
