SULLIVAN COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – The suspect charged in a hatchet attack appeared in a Sullivan County courtroom Wednesday morning.
The charges stem from a July 11 incident.
29-year-old Michael Scott of Shelburn is accused of forcing a man into the truck of a car and taking him to a rural area, where he allegedly beat him and struck him the head with a hatchet.
Police say Scott also had a female in the car who he allegedly battered.
Scott was appointed an attorney at Wednesday’s court hearing and heard the charges against him. His charges include kidnapping, criminal confinement and aggravated battery.
