After authorities received a report of stolen credit card information from Parke County being used to make purchases in Indianapolis and Las Vegas, they were able to identify Richard Wimberly III, 25, of Indianapolis, as the suspect.
On Thursday, deputies found him at the airport attempting to board a flight to Las Vegas.
At the time of his arrest, Wimberly was in possession of $4,300 cash, $3,000 worth of new name brand clothing, THC edibles and approximately 25 gift cards that were re-coded to contain stolen credit card information from different victims.
Wimberly was charged with credit card fraud and identity deception. He was transported to the Parke County Jail where he is being held pending posting of $10,000 bond.
The Indianapolis Airport Authority, Indiana State Police and Putnam County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the investigation.
