EFFINGHAM, Ill. (WTWO/WAWV) – An armed robbery suspect police had been looking for near the Crawford and Lawrence county line is in custody.
Latrell Shmar Coe, 18, of Indianapolis, was arrested for criminal damage to property, burglary, theft under $500 and criminal trespass to real property.
Illinois State Police posted the update on their Facebook page Wednesday morning.
Previously, police had warned the public to avoid picking up hitchhikers and to lock all doors, as the suspect had allegedly fled on foot from Illinois Route 1 near the county line.
Coe was transported to the Crawford County Jail where he is currently being held.
