PAKRE COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – A police pursuit in Parke County lands one man behind bars on several charges.
The Parke County Sheriff’s Office says on Thursday a deputy saw a truck on Lambert Avenue that matched a description of a truck stolen from Vigo County.
When the deputy tried to stop the truck, authorities say 34-year-old Shane Jenkins of Rosedale fled and led the deputy on a pursuit.
Jenkins allegedly ran a stop sign, nearly crashing into an off-duty state trooper. Authorities say the pursuit ended in Lyford when Jenkins failed to make a turn and ran the truck into a yard.
Jenkins faces charges of Auto Theft, Resisting Law Enforcement, Reckless Driving and a warrant for Auto Theft.
He’s being held in the Parke County Jail without bond.
