MAYSVILLE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — As the search continues for a missing Daviess County man, his loved ones’ concern for his safety grows.
72-year-old Dan Grannan of Maysville, IN, hasn’t been seen since Saturday evening.
“We’re going on day six,” said Lori Grannan Jones, Dan’s daughter.
A Silver Alert was issued Tuesday, and since then law enforcement and loved ones have searched high and low with no success.
“We’ve had drones in the skies, we’ve had boats in the rivers,” said Lori.
Lori says her father wouldn’t have walked off due in part to his health.
“My dad has very bad asthma. He carries a rescue inhaler; it’s not with him.”
Nor are his phone, keys, medicine, or his pickup truck, which are all still on his property.
“Everything he needs is here, but him, and something’s not right,” said Lori.
Daviess County Sheriff Gary Allison says the department has conducted several interviews in connection with Grannan’s disappearance.
“That investigation will be ongoing. We’re fairly confident in the search of the area we’ve searched so far, but it’s like looking for a needle in a haystack,” said Allison.
Meanwhile, Lori worries where this search will end.
“If he’s still here, he’s scared. If he’s here, but after six days, common sense tells me something’s wrong.”
Lori says her father would likely be wearing jeans, a white undershirt, and black shoes. He may be disoriented or confused.
Lori says he does suffer from some symptoms of dementia, but she doesn’t believe he got lost or wandered off.
