KNOX CO., Ind. – A Sullivan is facing felony charges for spitting on a officer during a DUI arrest.
According to Indiana State Police, Ron G. Howson, 51, was driving left of the center on Maple Street in Oaktown, Ind. when he was pulled over.
The state trooper said he smelled alcohol on Howson, and observed signs of impairment. A field sobriety test also indicated Howson was impaired.
While Howson was being transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes for a chemical test, he started yelling and spitting toward the trooper.
When they arrived at the hospital, Howson refused to exit the vehicle. He continued to be disorderly, and made several threats toward the trooper.
The chemical test revealed Howson had a blood alcohol content of .32%.
He was transported to the Knox County Jail where he continued to be uncooperative.
He is facing charges of driving while intoxicated and disorderly conduct, as well as the felonies of battery with a bodily fluid and intimidation of a law enforcement.
