We caught up with the Manalaysay family who are overjoyed with today’s groundbreaking for their own home.
The family moved to Terre Haute from California in 2010. Dahlia brought her two daughters with her and was worried about buying and affording a home.
But she decided it was time to apply with the Habitat for Humanity. Homeowners do pay on these homes. It’s with a zero percent interest rate and the mortgage will be paid off in 14 years.
“I know God will always provide, so there are a lot of angels out there who are willing to help this project to be done as soon as possible,” Dahlia Manalaysay said.
The house is located along south 13th street. Indiana State University raised more than 34 thousand dollars for the project with a goal to raise 60 thousand.
