TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Wabash Valley is rallying behind the Council on Domestic Abuse to help keep their residential facility open.
CODA announced Tuesday that residential services will be suspended as of Sept. 14 unless $150,000 can be raised. Staff cited long delays in contract reimbursements from state-awarded grants and operating costs as reasons for the suspension.
The Red Room Cakery was the first to announce a fundraiser. They will hold a
biscuit and gravy breakfast
from 8 to 11 a.m. Friday to support the cause.
Biscuits and sausage gravy, side of potatoes and choice of milk, juice or house coffee will be served for $8 with half of sales plus any tips received going to CODA.
Red Room Cakery is located at 2619 Fort Harrison Road in Terre Haute.
The next fundraiser will be a car wash sponsored by the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office and Show-Me’s.
The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28 in the Show-Me’s parking lot at 2324 S. 3rd St. in Terre Haute.
Vehicle’s will be washed by deputies for donations, with all money raised going toward the CODA Shelter.
