FARMERSBURG, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Authorities have been unable to locate a suspect that fled a traffic stop in Farmersburg Tuesday night.
According to Indiana State Police, the Farmersburg town marshal attempted to pull over a person he recognized as having multiple warrants out for his arrest.
The suspect fled the scene, leading police on a pursuit into Vigo County where he took cover in a house near Harold Drive and All Street.
Multiple police agencies arrived on scene, and the suspect ran into a nearby cornfield.
State police surrounded the cornfield, and attempted to track the suspect with the help of K-9 units.
Authorities eventually left the scene without taking the suspect into custody. The Farmersburg Marshal’s Office is continuing the investigation.
