WEST TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A West Vigo athletic trainer battling a rare disorder received some good news this week.
West Vigo Athletics posted to their Twitter account Wednesday that Bobby Vallandingham was approved for a liver transplant.
Vallandingham is one of the less than 200 people who have been diagnosed with the genetic disorder MNGIE, a condition that attacks the nervous system and has left Vallandingham unable to walk.
“Just a few more hurdles to jump and then he’s on the list,” Wednesday’s tweet said. “Things could start happening quickly.”
