Each year, the Italian food chain honors those in public service who work on the holiday.
This time around, they chose the Terre Haute Fire Department.
The restaurant provided a catered lunch for the firefighters that included their “create your own pasta meal” and a salad.
Olive Garden staff delivered the meal to Terre Haute Fire Department station 5.
The restaurant’s employees said it’s the least they could do for those who sacrifice for the community.
“They help put out fires. They’re there when you need them. They do good for the community. They deserve it,” said Julie Blair, service manager for Terre Haute’s Olive Garden.
Next year, Olive Garden will pick a new local agency to serve.
