TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)—A group of Terre Haute residents gathered at Fairbanks Park Saturday to promote diversity with a photoshoot.
Those in the photo were all from different backgrounds. They posed with signs in support of Black Lives Matters and other human rights causes.
They said they wanted to showcase the differences throughout the Terre Haute area.
Dominque Morefield, photoshoot organizer, said they wanted to let people know that the city welcomes everyone.
“I wanted it to show that it’s not just the people that you see on TV. It’s not just the stereotypical White, Christian, Republican. There’s nothing wrong with that, but we also want to show that there is so much more diversity and we want to show that we’re an inclusive community,” Morefield said.
