TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — It’s a big weekend over at Indiana State University, as it’s homecoming weekend and many students, friends, and family came out to celebrate and cheer on the Sycamores.
With Saturday’s weather, tailgating was a hit. Many people came out to tailgate at ISU’s homecoming game. Cooking lots of food and reuniting with old friends.
This is certainly the case for college friends Kendall Sheetz and Brian Sitz, who haven’t seen each other in years.
“Haven’t seen Brian in 20 years and here we are hanging out. So, it’s been a great day so far,” said Sheetz.
A homecoming game is something everyone can enjoy, from students to alumni.
“Every time I come to the tailgates, I see a lot of alumni come out. A lot of family and the people that graduated before. So, I know that’s going to be me in a few years,” said ISU student Tannan Wheeler.
Plus, many people enjoyed visiting organizations they were once a part of, bringing their friends to visit, and participating in games. One particular game found at almost every tailgate spot, was cornhole.
Events like this weekend, give parents and families the opportunity to come, and see their Sycamores, and celebrate homecoming all together at a tailgate.
“So, it’s an easy excuse to come down and not only watch the game but also be able to see her and her friends at the tailgate,” said Sitz.
With lots of laughter and memories tailgating is a tradition that continues to grow here at ISU.
