DUGGER, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Dugger Union Community School Corporation family is mourning the loss of one of its parents, Allison McCammon, after a devastating storm tore through the area Friday evening.
Principal of Dugger Union Junior and Senior High, Darin Simpson, said times like this are challenging for the community, but the school is working to help the family by raising money through various events.
Simpson said the school will be holding a hat day, silent auction and cornhole tournament to help raise money for the family. Simpson said it is important for the school to show it support to the family.
“It’s always hard to figure out what is exactly the right thing to do. Obviously, you want to give the family some space, but we also want the family to know we are thinking of them as well, and that we do care for them and we are here for them whenever they do need us,” said Simpson.
Simpson added that the student council is also working on ways to raise money for the family.
