VINCENNES, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A rain and high wind weather event that struck the city of Vincennes around noon on Tuesday has left around 4,000 Duke Energy customers without power.
That’s according to the Duke Energy Southwest Indiana Community Relations Manager Kurt Phegley, who said the weather event left some transmission and distribution lines down causing outages for customers.
Vegetation removal crews were dispatched to the area to remove trees from power lines to allow for power to be restored.
Phegley said the hope is for everyone to have their power back by this evening. The Duke Energy Outage Map for the state of Indiana listed 5:30 p.m. as the expected restoration time for most customers.
“We appreciate our customer’s patience while we work through these problems,” Phegley said.
